The family behind the award-winning Broadmoor and Sea Island resorts has published two cookbooks to commemorate their 100th and 90th anniversaries, respectively.
Written by Sarah Anschutz Hunt, the cookbooks – “Spirit of the West” (Broadmoor) and “Soul of the South” (Sea Island) – take readers on a captivating journey through both resorts’ rich histories, featuring 50-plus recipes and traditions inspired by their distinct cultures.
“The Broadmoor and Sea Island are treasured gathering places for families and friends who, like my family, have been visiting for decades,” said Anschutz Hunt. “I hope that these cookbooks inspire readers to celebrate time with their loved ones and rekindle fond memories of their times at these beloved resorts.”
Situated at the gateway to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, The Broadmoor and its Wilderness Experience properties of The Ranch at Emerald Valley, Cloud Camp and Fly Fishing Camp encompass 5,000 acres. The resort campus has 784 rooms, suites and cottages, and nationally recognized tennis staff and program.
Located on the southeastern coast of Georgia, Sea Island features 5 miles of private beach, a renowned tennis center, yacht club, shooting school and children’s programs, as well as three championship golf courses. Recently, the resort added a 71-foot custom-built passenger yacht known as the Sea Island Explorer. The state-of-the-art, three-level vessel gives guests and club members the opportunity to explore the rivers and salt marshes that abound among Georgia’s barrier islands. Currently, The Lodge at Sea Island is undergoing a $25 million renovation, which will include six new cottages, an oceanfront pool and pool house and a new putting course.
