On Thursday, March 7, Cherokee Tennis Center in Woodstock hosted the first annual Strokes for LOVE tennis event, which raised more than $6,000 to benefit Shepherd Center in Atlanta. More than 70 area tennis lovers came out to play doubles drills with area pros and to sharpen their Spring ALTA tennis game.
The morning featured a coffee bar, compliments of Copper Coin in Woodstock; along with a raffle with donated prizes from area vendors; wheelchair tennis demo by Shepherd’s tennis team; and culminated in a donated boxed lunch courtesy of Tropical Smoothie Café of Marietta. The Grand Prize was a tennis weekend at TOPS’L Beach and Racquet Club in Miramar Beach, Florida, valued at $1,200.
If you missed the event this year, grab a friend or two and join them next year. Strokes for LOVE will be held the Thursday before Spring ALTA begins.
