We want to give a big shout out to our own Lamar Scott who has been recognized as a PTR Ace Hero. Scott has been with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) for 20 years. He is also a certified PTR professional and a certified PPR pickleball coach. Scott will take over the helm of ALTA next year as the 2022 ALTA President.
“It feels amazing to be recognized at this level, and I’m honored. I would not have been able to accomplish the things I have without PTR and ALTA, as well as other mentors who taught me to always give back with compassion,” says Scott.
Scott began playing tennis as a junior and now uses the sport as a way to give back and mentor to young people in his community. In addition to his volunteer leadership position with ALTA, Scott serves on the board of the Atlanta Youth Tennis & Education Foundation (AYTEF) and works with kids through such programs as Serve and Connect. “I am truly grateful that I’ve been afforded the opportunity to be a part of — and give back to — the tennis community,” says Scott. He also lends a hand to Special Olympics and hosts an annual campaign during the holiday season to collect toys in support of Toys for Tots.
In addition to this prestigious award, Scott has received high honors as the USTA Southern Tennis Professional of the Year and USTA Georgia Tennis Professional Tennis Association Community Outreach Award.
Congratulations to ALTA’s own Lamar Scott!
